Hire St Augustine Kilburn “The Cathedral of North London”.
St Augustine's Kilburn is available for hire for concerts, filming, recording and photo shoots. Notably, it has been a venue for a BBC Christmas concert with 'The Sixteen'and lately had 'Libera' record their LIBERA, from the 2019 album ‘Christmas Carols with Libera' and has hosted events with the famous 'Britten Sinfonia' and 'Sinfonia of London' with conductor John Wilson too among some. The church and its glorious Victorian beauty has been used as a location for several feature films like Highlander (1986), Young Sherlock Holmes (1985) and several BBC documentaries, such as Monteverdi in Mantua.
Founded in 1870, few Victorian churches are a match for the soaring edifice of St Augustine’s, Kilburn, once dubbed “The Cathedral of North London”.
The inside is extraordinary. It is in the form of a giant hall, 10 bays long, with double aisles on all sides. These carry wide galleries divided by brick buttresses, allowing a perambulation of the entire church at upper floor level, lit by stained-glass windows in the clerestory. The intersecting planes seem to enfold one another, giving St Augustine’s Kilburn a remarkable atmosphere of light and shade
